Answer one of the two questions below. Be sure to be specific with your claims and write with a voice. Consider some of the techniques that we have discussed thus far: metaphor, sensory details, simile, personification, juxtaposition etc.

1. In his second paragraph Sudborough claims that terrorism can be used as an excuse "for wars of aggression." Do you think he is in effect saying that "terrorism" doesn't truly exist? Based on his arguments, do you think he denies the existence of terrorism and believes it is a relative phenomenon, defined simply for military convenience?

2. Are Zinn and Sudborough in your opinion ideological pacifists? Would they be opposed to any war, or would they make exceptions? What statements can you find in their essays that indicate their attitude toward war in general? How could you tell that someone is opposed to all war in principle or is opposed to a particular war?

You homework for Monday is to read through Enemies, Friends and How to Tell a True War Story. That should take you through page 85. Their will be a wikipost as well.
